What is it? Alkaline water is water that has a higher pH level than normal drinking water. The pH level is a number that measures how acidic or alkaline a substance is on a scale of 0 to 14. Something with a pH of 1 would be very acidic and something with a pH of 13 would be very alkaline. Normal drinking water generally has a neutral pH of 7. Alkaline water typically has a pH between 8 and 9.

Why drink alkaline water? The typical American diet is made up of mostly acidic foods. Drinking our water helps balance the pH in our bodies to bring it back to a neutral state.

Balance is key! There are many factors that contribute to excess acidity in the body, such as food, liquids, medications, stress and inactivity. Keeping a healthy diet of alkaline foods & water can help bring the body back into balance.
